Donations may be made to a particular event, activity or cause in which our Foundation and Club are involved:
Granada Hills Veterans’ Park: We are presently accepting donations to support the annual maintenance of the “triangle” at Chatsworth St. and Zelzah Ave. which is both our obligation and what we are dedicated to doing. Presently, donations of $125 or $1,000 are recognized in the form of bricks which become part of the walkway leading up to the bronze statue in the park. Space for approximately 100 bricks remain and they are available on a first come, first served basis.
Rotary Gives Blood: Our annual blood drive supports Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, the Panorama City and Woodland Hills branches of Kaiser Permanente and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. In the past years, over 1,500 pints of blood have been donated, primarily through our partnership with AYSO Regions 8 and 174. “Rotary Gives Blood” is now the largest, single-day blood drive held in the San Fernando Valley. Donations of money are always accepted -- and $100-$5,000 for sponsorship of various aspects of the event. AND, then, of course, there’s the blood……………
Oktoberfest: This event is our clubs, primary fundraiser. every year, we host this event as part the Granada Hills Street Faire. During this event, we are able to raise the lions share of our clubs funds that we use to support the community and the other events and projects that we take part in every year. Our goal is to raise $20,000.00 this year. You can help us by Sponsoring this event, or you can help us by donating some of your time to help us with running this event. If you are interested please Contact Us.
International Projects:
Each year, our Club and Foundation undertake to support and/or organize one or more projects outside of our “backyard.” One year it was Philippine Children’s Feeding Program to enhance the nutrition of children in Calauag, Quezon, Philippines. Another year, we held a matching grant project for the construction of four water wells to bring clean drinkable water to elementary schools in remote areas of the Philippines. Now the Kundara, India program to provide poor women with a trade -- sewing machines, starting supplies, and training, is just beginning.
We participated in a PolioPlus Rose Program to contribute funds to the Rotary International Foundation for the ongoing program to eradicate polio from the world. Rotary International has been working to eradicate polio since 1986. In the past few years, they were joined by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which provided additional funds -- and polio is now endemic in just three countries. ("We're "this" close, says Rotary, and Gates, holding fingers just half an inch apart).
You can join us in this effort! Please contribute any amount to The Rotary Foundation.

Sportsmanship Program: We hold an annual program to recognize not just the athletic prowess of some of our young, local baseball and softball players, but emphasize their sportsmanship. These kids give from their hearts. Donations range from $20 and up.
Thanksgiving Support for the Disadvantaged: This year and every year, our members are making contributions to the Foundation which will be used to purchase specific foodstuffs for local food banks so that they will have sufficient supplies to provide full Thanksgiving meals to the growing disadvantaged population in the San Fernando Valley. Donations of any amounts are appreciated.
“Sweat Equity”: Come join us and work on an event. You will not find anything more rewarding and it will help you to appreciate Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” Great friendship, fun, and memories. It doesn’t get any better than this.
